Review on Samsung SCH B209

Samsung although holds a strong position in developing higher end smartphones, it hasn’t given up the lower end mobile market. Samsung B209 is an example for it. This phone has only some basic features but what is interesting is it has a mobile tracking feature. You can track down the user data when ever a SIM is been changed. Now you can easily find out your stolen mobiles.

Design:

The phone has much of a compact design with curved edges which makes sure that you can slip it easily into your pocket. The phone as usual has an alpha numeric keypad and above it is the OK button centered by the navigation buttons. The phone has select, back, Call and End buttons. At the back, the phone has both the Reliance and Samsung branding and also some peculiar design which we kinda like it.

The 1.52-ich color display supports up to 65k colors and has a resolution of 128x128p. The phone measures 108 mm in length, 44.8 mm in width, 14.3 mm in thickness and weighs around 72.3 g. 

Features:

It is worth giving first preference to the mobile tracking feature present in the phone. We guess, it will be working as same as in Samsung Corby line up, in which the feature was first introduced. You will have to enter one of your friend’s number in the mobile tracking feature to which the new SIM phone number will be sent. What if they change the SIM and immediately change the contact number in the mobile tracking feature and use another SIM. The mobile tracking feature seems to be all waste.

The phone has a 1000 contact entry phone book and has a memory for saving up to 200 SMSs. The phone is expected to include all the basic organizing features like the world clock, calculator, converter, stop watch etc. Samsung claims the included Indian Calendar to be an important feature. It contains all the details of Indian festivals and hence you will be informed about such events well in advance.

The phone is preloaded with the Cricket Game which we guess will be pretty basic. As the phone is offered with Reliance network, you will get access to the R World. 

Battery Life:

The phone is powered by a strong 1000mAh battery which ensures extended talk time. We are hoping that we can juice up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 19 days of stand by time.

The phone is expected to be in the price range of Rs. 1,400 – 1,800.
